Levi Novey is a conservation professional who worked for the U.S. National Park Service for 10 years as a park ranger, social science researcher, and science communication specialist for 20 different parks. He has received a master’s degree in Conservation Social Sciences from the University of Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in History from Tufts University. In addition to having authored several guidebooks to U.S. national parks, he has written scholarly papers and over 150 articles as an environmental journalist. He currently writes for numerous publications and groups including The Huffington Post, Live Oak Media, and Living in Peru.
Levi also has taught an undergraduate Environmental Communication Skills course at the University of Idaho, won several photography contests, and regularly enjoys visits to parks, protected areas, historical sites, museums — and just about anywhere where he can learn something new about the world. He recently returned to the U.S. from Peru, where he lived for over 2 years with his wife Alicia and their daughter Coral.
